Here the image signals, after being transmitted from New York, are run through the terminal equipment and shot along an electron beam in the cathode ray tube (center). The screen on the tube shows the picture, which is visible in the room beyond the partition.

This receiver gives quality sufficiently good for home reception, but the equipment takes up too much room, and cannot be reduced in size without reducing the quality of the received image.
