VANDERBUILT'S METER
CD 2478033 E&MP11.021
Edison, Thomas A.
no date
This is the first type of commercial electric meters.
One of this type was installed in Mr. Vanderbuilt's house by Mr. Edison.
The bath and copper plate, the weight of which determine the amount of electricity used, is removed in this picture.
The zig-zag, heavy copper shunt through which the electricity of the house passed, is shown. This type of meter settled a wager between Mr. Vanderbuilt and Mr. Edison.
