Electric Appliances & Apparatus
April 1, 1941
Bearings will fit tightly on shafts if this electrical apparatus is used.
Above and below the middle glass tray are banks of special gold-plated infra-red ray bulbs.
The bearing cones, still in their boxes, are layed on the tray. In about 20 minutes, acting through the containers, the heat rays raise the temperature of the metal to about 155 degrees.
Then they are slipped on the shafts.
As they cool, they contract, and hold with a firm grip.
