Part of one assembly floor of the huge Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company at East Pittsburgh, where many of the country's largest electrical machines are being made.

In the foreground two giant generators are being tested.

Each generates 68,750 kilowatts, enough electricity to light the lamps in a million homes.

In the test, one is used to generate current to drive the other. Further down the aisle, which is nearly a quarter of a mile long, may be seen parts of other motors and generators slowly taking form.
