Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company craftsmen are shown producing such divergent machines as a generator and a bearing to carry the world's largest telescope.

In the foreground is one of the 45,000 kilovolt-ampere waterwheel generators for the Pickwick Landing dam of the Tennessee Valley Authority.

At the left is a synchronous condenser and in the background is the "horse-shoe" bearing on which the Mt. Palomar telescope will turn.
