TOO HEAVY!CD 1963068 E&MP 25.001 Electric Lamps May 13, 1947 TOO HEAVY! That was the conclusion of three-year-old Dickey Jackson, of Schenectady, after he had tried in vain to unscrew the world's biggest lamp from its socket. Fifty-thousand watts strong and the equivalent in light output of 2,000 one-hundred watt bulbs, the huge lamp will be used in ceremonies Thursday (May 15), dedicating a new General Electric lighting system on Schenectady's Erie Boulevard which will make the street one of the eight brightest-lighted in the country.
