Electric Lamps

This view shows a portion of the battery of 72 luminaires equipped with 500-watt silver-bowl lamps which provide more than 1000 footcandles of light for the beach scene demonstration at the General Electric Institute, Nela Park.

Actual beach sand, tropical greenery and a mural sea-scape join with myriad footcandles to create a sea-shore atmosphere so realistic that, as one visitor remarked, "one can almost smell the salt breeze."
