An incandescent lamp giving 1,000 times as much light as the ordinary household lamp was shown to King Prajadhipok of Siam when he visited the General Electric Company's research laboratory in Schenectady in July.

Dr. Irving Langmuir, associate director of the laboratory, is holding the lamp.
