Electric Light

November 15, 1931

The beautiful George Westinghouse Memorial, one of the world’s art shrines has now been floodlighted by lighting engineers of the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company and the Westinghouse Lamp Company.

Sixteen hundred candlepower of light from concealed floodlighting units make this tribute to George Westinghouse, one of America’s most titanic figures, glow in reflected golden light from its unique idyllic setting in Schenley Park.

The heroic statue of the American Youth and the figures in the center panel were the last works of the late Daniel Chester French.
