January 31, 1942

The explosive force of 1,500,000 kilowatts of electric power is shown here at a demonstration of the Westinghouse high power laboratory, the mightiest in the world.

Three copper cables, sandwiched between six-inch timbers bound with heavy rope, were pulled apart by the magnetic force of the electricity, equal to the pull of 200 horses.
