Portable instruments are assembled by hand at the Newark Works, which turn out 237 different types of meters, relays, instruments and electronic devices, in more than 16,000 active styles, equipped to measure any level of electrical energy, from one-tenth of a "fly-power" to the entire output of Boulder Dam.
