Transmission of electric power by direct power joins the RESEARCH PARADE presented at the Centennial Celebration of the American Patent System, Washington, November 23, 1936.
L.H.B. Peer of the General Electric Company shows the special gas-filled tubes that turn alternating into direct current.
The new power transmission method removes one of the greatest objections to a-c transmission --- the dangerous short circuit with its high voltage which can kill a man.
