By using a lightweight hoop on a pole, new caps are easily and safely installed atop utility poles. Made of resilient neoprene sponge coated with synthetic rubber, the cap stretches to fit snugly, protecting the susceptible pole tops from decay, rain, and splitting for an estimated 15 years.

Supplied by Penn Line Service, Inc., Scottsdale, Pa., the caps are now being used by Duquesne Light Company, Pittsburgh, Pa.
