Setting a new high in size, this 132,000-volt disconnect switch is for one of six large power transformers built by General Electric for a west coast installation.

The switch enclosed in its steel casing weighs 11,000 pounds.

The casing holds 1880 gallons of oil, which makes the weight of the complete switch almost 12 tons.
