November 1944

Defrosting frozen foods by electronic heating, using radio-frequency waves in a new kitchen unit, is a process taking minutes instead of hours as in the customary thawing method. The unit, shown in the picture, is a "dielectric oven" in which the interior of the frozen food is heated as rapidly as the surface.
