With the aid of a microscope, Helen Dula inserts the inner assembly of a new thimble-size RCA electron tube, now under development, into its metal case.
RCA expects that this tube, based on a newly developed design concept, can be manufactured by high-speed, mechanized production techniques.
Tubes of this type are expected to make possible the production of more compact, more efficient television sets, computers, and electronic devices for defense and industry.
