As seen through the eyes of infrared. Body heat shows through the thin cover of clothing.

The eyes appear cool because the man is wearing goggles that absorb infrared radiation from the skin beneath.

The chromium handlebars and gas tank appear cold because they have low emissivity; i.e., they do not emit much infrared radiation.

The headlight, too, appears cold.

The coarse lines running across the image are due to the high degree of enlargement that makes the scan lines of the camera visible.
