Roderick M. Love, Jr., of Durham, an electrical engineering senior, tests the voltage of the rectifier tube used in the circuit of the Duke University man-made lightning generator. Love is the son of a Duke Power Company engineer who was one of the first electrical engineering graduates of Duke.
