With a pressure of more than 3,000,000 volts, a man-made lightning stroke struck and shattered a transmission pole during demonstration of the lightning surge generator in the Westinghouse high voltage laboratory at Sharon, Pa.

Note the cloud-like formations playing about the pole, tracing the explosive path of the lightning stroke.
