BULL'S EYE FOR LIGHTNING

E&MP 72.115

no date

Man-made lightning stroke produced in the new surge generator of the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company, striking a completely self-protected transformer on the testing line at the company's division in Sharon, Pa.

Despite this blast of lightning, the transformer was unharmed, because de-ion gaps detoured the stroke to ground.
