NORAD'S ROLE

Under the direction of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Canadian Chiefs of Staff Committee, the Commander-in-Chief NORTH AMERICAN AIR DEFENSE COMMAND is responsible for the aerospace defense of the entire North American continent.

NORAD exercises day-to-day operational control over aerospace defense forces of the
U.S. ARMY
U.S. NAVY
U.S. AIR FORCE
ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE
