Searchlights

September 5, 1931

Lieutenant James C. Barr and Captain C.D. Barnhill, 112th Observation Squadron, Ohio National Guard, with the Westinghouse searchlight mounted on their plane. This is the first time that a searchlight of this power has been installed on any plane due to the fact that the Westinghouse unit weighs less than 50 pounds and can be operated from the ship's batteries.
