Byron Stoll of North American Aviation's Los Angeles Division operates Sonic Resonator, a device that permits non-destructive inspection of honeycomb panels used in aircraft and space vehicle construction.

By sensing acoustical changes in the structure, the Sonic Resonator, developed by North American engineers, can detect defects such as disbonds and cell damage in a honeycomb composite.
