Difficult inspection of honeycomb panel deep inside the hydrogen fuel tank of NASA's Saturn S-II space booster was made with the Sonic Resonator at North American Aviation's Space Division, builders of the S-II. Possibility of battery-operated Sonic Resonator permits thorough checks of honeycomb structures in areas heretofore inaccessible.
