What's OldWe have attempted to provide outstanding material directly related to the work of Science Service held within our collections. The following documents have been included to improve the general understanding of the history of Science Service as known during its introduction of bringing photographs to the general public. The text, image captions and feature stories have been hand transcribed by dedicated staff, volunteers and interns. The subject of the project, “Electricity” was begun in 1985 while rescuing images from imminent danger. We have been successful and are pleased to preserve and provide the historical Electricity portion of Science Service on the World Wide Web. The Smithsonian represents no political, commercial or private views. We are simply providing research material in support of the increase and diffusion of knowledge held dear by our mission.
